I’m so thrilled! I launched my Kickstarter campaign for Beginnings, a short story collection in paperback, on the 15th of September, and within 24 hours it had already funded!
So that’s really, really exciting. I didn’t expect it to go that quickly.
Now there is almost a week left, and then we’ll see if we’re going to reach the stretch goals. We’re quite close to the first one already, and if we reach all of them, all backers will get a bonus character list in PDF, and also more short stories.
And Beginnings — I say it’s a short story collection, but it also includes a novella and a novelette. So there’s quite a lot of story in it, and I’m so excited to see what you think about it.
The stories are very close to my heart. They take place in the era when we have reached out to the stars. We have colonies within our solar system, and the first interstellar travels are happening.
And this is an era that I find really, really fascinating, because you need a lot of courage to take those first steps — not knowing where you are going to land.
You also have a lot of ethical considerations in that era. I’m really interested in those kinds of questions.
So, I just wanted to share with you how glad I am that the campaign funded that quickly.
